Today's Dinner

I didn't eat out today. First day not eating out, but I was taking it easy from being sick. So I made an omelette with cheese and bacon. I sort of needed an "American style" comfort meal. My grocery store did not have any cheddar. So I used a four cheese blend that had some sort of orange colored shredded cheese in it. And I fried my bacon crispy. Which is not something done here. All bacon I have found is cooked just slightly beyond the raw stage, and I think the bacon is sliced and cured to be cooked like this. As my photo shows if you try to take it to the crispy stage it burns, and the texture is a bit chewy. Still porky goodness! And I am kind of in love with the bacon queso bocadillo. Which I showed a photo of on a previous day. Maybe bacon is best not at its crispy stage?!?!

Eggs - 0.80€ for 1/2 dozen
Bacon - 2.60€ for 10 slices
4 Cheese blend - 1.88
Coke - 1.37€ for 2L

Total for what I ate - 1.87€

A Cool Shop

I saw this place while walking around the narrow streets of Barri Gòtic. It was filled with masks, finger puppets, and those ornate tiny finger puppet stages (...that I've only seen little kids have/play with in movies. Amazing!) I was too afraid to go inside though. The female shop owner looked highly highly intimidating. (She's probably a really nice lady. ::shoulder shrug::) So while she was taking a phone call and turned the other direction I snapped what I could from the windows.

Me

Relaxing near the Jaume I metro stop in back of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand's castle. Just taking a break from walking.

Today's Lunch

I woke around 2pm today and cooked my first meal here. Since I was still feeling a bit ill I made soup!
White beans from a can that I had water and spices to - 1€; Gouda cheese - 1.99€; Salami - 1.89 €; Baguette - 1€; Orange juice - 1.65€ for 1L; and Yummy Spanish Olive Oil complements of the apartment I am staying in.

Total Cost for this meal for amount of food I ate: 1.45

(I have found since living here that - Shhh!!! Spanish Olive Oil is a lot better than Italian. In my opinion of course;) )
